Last year I tutored a lady who was a final year MBA student. She gave me some valuable advice that's really, if you think about it, elementary. I mean, we can all figure it out, but sometimes you get so caught up in life that you just don't think straight.
When attempting a big or time-consuming goal, like obtaining my degree, I tend to look at where I need to go, in stead of where I should be going right now. I get so discouraged that I lose all interest in the matter and I end up not accomplishing the task. I think it's the same with new year's resolutions and practically everything else in life. You need to break it down in smaller short term goals. Eventually all the small goals will add up to the really big goal.
Her advice to me and my advice to you today is: break down the mountains into hills and focus on one hill at a time. To quote Barry Benson from Bee Movie: "Let me tell you something about a small job. If you do it really well, it makes a big difference".
